Webinar 1: Wednesday 15 July 2020 ‘All about fundraising for your club’

This webinar will cover:

  • Overview of fundraising tactics
  • Competitive landscape for fundraising
  • People’s attitudes and beliefs to giving
  • Creating your fundraising proposition

Presenter: Karen Armstrong

Karen is a marketing expert with over 15 years experience across FMCG and NFP marketing. She is the Director, More Impact part of the More Strategic Group and was previously Director, Marketing and Fundraising at Cancer Council Australia. Commercially she worked in the UK and Australia with Kraft Foods where she was recognized internationally for the best integrated sales & marketing campaign. She presents frequently at FIA, FINZ, IFC and commercially at X4 the largest experience management summit. She was a founding board member of Include a Charity and FIA Conference Chair 2017. She completed an MA (Sociology), publishing a thesis on refugees and social change. She is passionate about blending the science of the mind, emotions and society to change the world for good.

Strategic Grants works with non-profits across New Zealand and Australia to build effective grant seeking strategies and has worked on successful philanthropic grants and government tenders ranging from $5000 to $50M. Jo leads the team in their work with community groups and nonprofits of all sizes to deliver strategic program planning, grants training and capacity building, to help ensure grants success. Jo is a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute Australia and holds the international accreditation, Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

Presenter: Luke Bell

Luke has almost two decades of experience developing partnerships and procuring sponsorships across the for-purpose and the private sectors, in industries including Health and Disability, Aid and Development, Medical Research, Media and advertising, Sport and Retail. Luke has held executive positions and led large teams, uncovered powerful insights and developed effective strategy that collectively has made businesses more sustainable and driven revenue growth. He is known for being passionate about the customer and their positive experience through authentic engagement. Luke is a Certified Practicing Marketer, as recognised by the Australian Marketing Institute. He holds a Masters of Business Administration (Professional) and a Postgraduate Diploma of Management (Marketing) from Melbourne Business School, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT.

Presenter: Mary Anne Plummer

Mary Anne was always going to end up in fundraising, she spent much of her childhood selling Christmas cakes off the back of a truck, riding shotgun on her mother’s meals on wheels visits, counting collection money after church and manning cake stalls. She trained for fundraising in TV journalism then mainstream advertising. She comes most recently from 8 years as the Creative Director at Pareto fundraising.
