2025 Good Sports Awards

The Good Sports Awards ceremony celebrating our 2025 winners was hosted by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation at Parliament House, Canberra in late March 2026.

These Awards shine the spotlight on the passionate clubs and volunteers. These clubs and people are giving their all to their sport. They work hard to reduce the harms from alcohol and other drugs, and improve the health and wellbeing of members, families and sporting communities.

Good Sports Club of the Year

This award goes to a Good Sports club who is a leader in their community. The club has adopted practices and strategies to improve the wellbeing of their members and reduce harm from alcohol and other drugs, inspiring positive change and building a healthier, more family-friendly club environment where everyone feels welcome.

This year, the Good Sports Club of the Year is North Coburg Rebels Baseball Club, from Victoria!

The runner up is Azzurri United FC from the NT.

Good Sports Volunteer of the Year

This award recognises a Good Sports club volunteer who is the beating heart of their club. They’re a champion who makes their community sporting club stronger and more family-friendly by going above and beyond the usual undertakings of a volunteer.

This year, the Good Sports Volunteer of the Year is Tim Sparkman, of Gladstone Suns AFC in Queensland.

The runner up is Natalie Geard of Glenorchy Basketball Association in Tasmania.

Good Sports Safe Transport Award

Good Sports clubs across Australia are leading the charge when it comes to promoting road safety. This award goes to a Good Sports club who has prioritised the safety of their members by developing and implementing safe transport practices to reduce the risk of drink driving, making sure everyone gets home safe.

The Good Sports Safe Transport Award goes to Tarrawanna Blueys FC, from NSW.

The runner up is Gladstone Suns AFC, from Queensland.

Good Sports Community Club Award

This award goes to a club who is a community leader, going above and beyond the core requirements of a Good Sports club. The club’s impact goes further than their membership, supporting their local community in times of need, and reducing harm from alcohol and other drugs in their local area.

The Good Sports Community Club Award goes to Collingwood Park Power AFL Club Inc., from Queensland.

The runner-up is Randwick City Football Club from NSW.

Good Sports Mental Health Excellence Award

This award recognises a Good Sports club who has inspired change by promoting mental health awareness and is undertaking positive activities that strengthen their club community.

The Good Sports Mental Health Excellence Award goes to Warrandyte Cricket Club, from Victoria.

The runner-up is Port Stephens Netball Association Inc., from NSW.

Good Sports Junior Club of the Year

This award recognises a Good Sports club who has created a safer place for juniors to play sport by focusing on preventing or reducing juniors’ exposure to alcohol in sport, spectator behaviour and a smoke free environment.

The Good Sports Junior Club of the Year is Gladstone Suns AFC, from Queensland.

The runner-up is Collingwood Park Power AFL Club Inc., from Queensland.

Good Sports New Club of the Year

This award goes to a new Good Sports club that is inspiring positive change and taking responsibility for its members, working hard to reduce harms from alcohol and other drug harm, and creating a safer and more welcoming club environment.

The Good Sports New Club of the Year is Mackay Masters Sea Turtles, from Queensland.

The runner-up is the Rainbow Roos from NSW.
