Now that you understand the basics of social media and how it can benefit your online presence, you’ll need to start posting on your chosen platform(s).
As the social and economic impact of COVID-19 continues, communities are under great strain. One potential consequence is an increase in harms from alcohol and drug use.
People may find themselves drinking or using substances more to cope with anxiety, stress, loneliness and the uncertain environment.
We have compiled this promotional kit to provide you with social media and online resources that can be shared with your local community members to help them stay safe and stay connected with you. For instance, ‘Tips for safer drinking’ could be a timely piece of information for you to share through your newsletter, by email or via social media.
Now is a good opportunity to reach out to your community online and support them through these challenging times. Your work has never been more important.

With great social media posting comes great responsibility. In order to ensure your platform is a safe and accommodating place for all your followers, you should come up with your own set of Social Community Guidelines. Community Guidelines outline how to behave on social media in a way that is inclusive and inviting for everyone (the organisation, its employees or volunteers and its audience/customers).
