We know that vaping is a health concern for young people. 1 in 5 young people aged 14 and over reported using e-cigarettes at least once in 2022-23.

Your club cares about the wellbeing of young players, both on and off the field. As trusted role models, coaches can shape young players’ choices around vaping.

Even if there isn’t a problem with vaping at your club, you can be a powerful positive influence in helping young people to make healthier choices in the rest of their lives, too.

As a club leader or coach, you want your team to be happy and healthy. Vaping can be a real health risk to young people and impact sporting performance. Get to know the score on vaping, so you can share that important info with them.

  • Text QUITVAPE to 0447 987 230 – a text service where you can text with a friendly counsellor
  • Text the Effects (0439 835 563) - an anonymous SMS service that provides confidential info about the effects of drugs in a quick and easy way.

Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Services:

  • Call Quitline on 13 78 48 and ask to speak with an Aboriginal counsellor.
  • Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) – dedicated teams across Australia to help reduce harm from smoking in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • WellMob – shares social, emotional and cultural wellbeing resources.
