Reaching out beyond Good Sports

Apart from Good Sports, the Australian Drug Foundation offers related programs with support and education on healthy living to reach Australians through their local governments, workplaces, health care settings, schools and community sporting clubs.

These initiatives help raise awareness of good eating habits as well as drug and alcohol problems, including identifying mental health issues like depression or anxiety often related to drug or alcohol use.

Food for Sport is a pilot program in Queensland aiming to deliver healthy food and drink to schools and sports clubs throughout the state. With the help and guidance of a number of key partners, everyone can benefit from this remarkable initiative to improve and enhance nutrition in everyday life.

Good Sports Mental Health is a program focused on mental health issues as a joint initiative of the ADF and Beyond Blue. Working closely with sporting clubs, it aims to encourage and support clubs to identify and deal with individuals who are struggling with signs of depression or anxiety through non-threatening, constructive learning, self-assessment and positive lifestyle habits as alternatives to drug or alcohol use.
