Leadership in Sport

Nominations for the 2017 Good Sports Awards have closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted! We have started reading your nominations and we have some incredible clubs doing amazing things within their communities.

This award recognises an organisation that has driven a change in attitudes and behaviours, helping to prevent alcohol and drug harm within community sport. These organisations champion the Good Sports values of inclusivity, connection and promote the Good Sports program.

Criteria

This award goes to an organisation that has driven a change in attitudes and behaviours, helping to prevent harm within community sport. These organisations champion the Good Sports values of inclusivity, connection and promote the Good Sports program.

Organisations eligible for this award include national sporting bodies, state sporting bodies, leagues/associations, or councils.

To be eligible for this award the organisation:

  • Must not have been a state/territory winner in the Good Sports Awards in the last two years.
  • Must not be accredited with Good Sports – – clubs are to nominate for the Club of the Year award.

Considerations will be given to the following:

  • The impact the organisation has had on the uptake of Good Sports in their area – whether it be a local government region, state sporting code, etc.
  • The degree to which the organisation leads by example and promotes healthy attitudes and behaviours particularly regarding alcohol management.
